UV Tracker is an educational estimate, not a medical device. Use it to make everyday sun decisions better informed — not as a substitute for professional advice.
1. What you are agreeing to
By installing or using UV Tracker you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
2. The app is free
UV Tracker is provided free of charge, with no subscription and no paid features. It is supported by advertising and clearly-disclosed sun-protection product suggestions. Where a suggestion carries an affiliate link, that is stated at the point of the link.
3. Accuracy and limitations
The readings are estimates, and their limits are worth understanding:
- The UV index comes from a public weather forecast for your area, not a sensor on your device.
- The sky scan estimates cloud cover from a camera image. Camera exposure and white balance vary between devices, so it is an approximation.
- Skin-tone estimation from a photograph is affected by lighting and camera processing. It approximates a skin type; it does not diagnose one.
- "Safe sun time" is derived from a standard erythemal-dose formula. Individual sensitivity varies with medication, medical conditions, altitude, reflection from water, sand or snow, and other factors the app cannot observe.
Treat the output as guidance that errs toward caution, not as a guarantee against sunburn or skin damage.
4. Not medical advice
UV Tracker is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It must not be used to manage photosensitivity, skin cancer risk, or any medical condition. Consult a qualified professional for those. If you notice a changing mole or lesion, see a doctor — the app cannot assess it.
5. Camera and eye safety
Never point the camera directly at the sun. Doing so can permanently damage your eyes and your device's camera sensor. Aim at open sky away from the sun.
6. Liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for sunburn, skin damage, or any other loss arising from reliance on the app's estimates. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
7. Changes
These terms may be updated; the effective date above will change when they are. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
